Eminem Almost Completes Next Album
January 22, 2009 -EMINEM'S forthcoming album
RELAPSE is almost complete, according to fellow rapper 50
CENT.
The Slim Shady star has been on a lengthy hiatus since his last
album, 2004's ENCORE, with some reports claiming he was
clinically depressed and overweight.
However, 50 CENT has claimed that the hip hop star is close to
announcing the release of the long-awaited
album.
50, real name Curtis Jackson, said: "His new album is almost
actually done. I went to Detroit to mix my song I Get It In
[from upcoming LP Before I Self Destruct] with Dr. Dre [and]
Eminem is currently mixing his album right
now."
He added that it will not be more than two weeks before Eminem
and his team start scheduling an official release
date.
The forthcoming album is again being produced by Eminems's
long-time collaborator Dr Dre.
It recently topped a survey conducted by MTV to find out the
most highly-anticipated albums of 2009.
8-Mile Actor Found Dead In Apartment
December 8, 2008 - An up-and-coming actor who
starred in EMINEM's movie 8 MILE has been found dead in an
apparent suicide.
De'Angelo Wilson's body was discovered in a room at a
commercial premises in Los Angeles. It is believed he had
hanged himself.
Wilson, who played DJ Iz in the 2002 movie and also starred in
an episode of TV crime drama CSI: NY, is thought to have died
on 26 November (08).
According to AllHipHop.com, Wilson’s mother did not have enough
money to transport his body to the family's home in Dayton,
Ohio - so friends stepped in to help out.
Wilson had also appeared in several other movies including
Antwone Fisher, The Salon, and Mercy
Street.
The Game Disses Eminem in Song
July 24 2008 - The recently leaked Game song
featuring Lil Wayne titled "My Life" [click to listen] is
already making waves on the internet. But it is not because of
the obvious two top tier emcees on the song. The issue at hand
is the version that leaked onto the net with Game spitting the
following lines:
"You see them 24’s spinning, I earned ‘em/and all the pictures
of me and Em, I burned ‘em/ so there ain’t no proof that I ever
walked through 8 Mile/and since there’s no Proof, I’ll never
walk through 8 Mile"
Moments after the version leaked and began to spread, another
version of the song - which is the album version according to
an Interscope representative - hit the net without the
controversial lines. Along with that came a statement from Game
clearing up the lyrics.
"When I originally wrote the song 'My Life' I was trying to
think back on events that affected my life and how they changed
me," Game says. "When I first got signed to Aftermath and
G-Unit I was exposed to so many different people from Dre to Em
to 50 to Proof. I always identified with Proof. We were always
cool and he would reach out to me when ever I was going through
something."
Game goes on to explain how the song was not meant to be
offensive by any means and was clearly taken out of
context.
"I remember when Proof died vividly and now every time I think
about going to Detroit I get depressed. That is what I was
trying to say in that verse and the more I looked at I realized
that people would take it the wrong way…the way they are taking
it now that it leaked. So I decided to change it so that this
bullshit wouldn't happen and now it's happened anyway," he
continued.
In the end, Game apologizes for that version of the song even
being heard by the masses.
"For the record, this is not the version on my album, this is
not the version that radio will get and this is not the version
that I just shot the video to. Furthermore, I apologize to
anyone who took this the wrong way as that was never my
intention."
Eminem In Studio Working On Songs
June 16 2008 - Eminem
has confirmed that he is working on new material in the studio,
likely to be set for a new album.
The rapper said that the recording process had been going well
when he phoned into his own US radio station, Shade 45,
initially pretending to be an unsigned artist in order to prank
call LL Cool J, who was a guest on
the station.
According to MTV News, Eminem
revealed his real identity after he rapped on air and
LL Cool J began to suspect that it
was in fact Eminem on the
phone.
Eminem then said: "Everything is
good. I'm just in the studio right now working on songs and
stuff like that."
The forthcoming new album will be Eminem's fifth, and his first studio album of
new material since 2004's 'Encore'.
Eminem's Mom Sued Over Book
April 8, 2008 - Eminem's mother has been sued by a
man who alleges he helped her with a book about the Detroit
rapper but was cut out of the profits.
Neal Alpert claims in an Oakland County
Circuit Court lawsuit filed Monday that Debbie Nelson
developed the book while she was under contract with
him.
The lawsuit alleges they entered into a
contract in 2005 in which he would be her agent and
receive 25 percent of the gross profits.
Nelson couldn't be reached for comment
Monday.
The lawsuit says "My Son Marshall, My Son
Eminem" has sold 100,000 copies since its U.K. release
last year.
